Account books, 1803-1847, 1855.

The two octavo account books, 1803-1847 and 1827-1842, record postage fees due on newspapers arriving in New Market for subscribers. There is also a listing of letters containing money and mailed from New Market. The folio account book, 1818-1820, 1855, is for business in a general store. It notes customers, purchases and costs. The book is attributed to an unidentified member of the Henkel family. There is one entry in the book for 1855. Pasted on the inside cover are poems clipped from a newspaper.
